Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

It's almost halfway through the year so it's time for the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. This is basically just me answering questions about the books I've read so far this year, but let's get into it!

  1. Best book you've read so far in 2018?
    1. This is a hard one because there are so many good books, but I think the one that stands out the most is Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I read it in a day and I just fell in love with the characters and story overall.
  2. The best sequel you've read in 2018 so far?
    1. For this one, I'm gonna have to go with Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. I just love the way the story continued and how the characters grew, I just couldn't put it down at any time and fell in love with the characters.
  3. A new release you haven't read yet, but want to?
    1. Furyborn by Claire Legrand is the new release that I really want to read, mostly because of the great things I've heard about it and the story sounds like an awesome new fantasy world to get into.
  4. Most anticipated release for the second half of 2018?
    1. I'm going with 3 books on this one, and they are Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas, Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare, and Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. All of these are sequels to book that I just am in love with and I can't wait to get my hands on them!
  5. The biggest disappointment?
    1. The biggest disappointment was probably They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. I loved the book, but I just was hoping for more from it and in the end, I was a little letdown.
  6. The biggest surprise?
    1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald was the biggest surprise because I usually don't like classics, but I really loved reading this book.
  7. Favorite new author?
    1. For this, I'm saying both Tomi Adeyemi and Samuel Miller, because both of their debut books were so amazing and I just couldn't put them down. They both have such amazing writing styles and I'm excited to see what they write next.
  8. Newest fictional crush?
    1. There's going to be a few so let me list them all: Tiberius Blackthorn, Simon Spier, and Felicity Montague, respectively from The Dark Artifices, Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda, and The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue.
  9. A book that made you cry?
    1. History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera most definitely made me cry. I know I cried 3 times before I was even 100 pages in. It was such an awesome book but was a really big tear-jerker.
  10. A book that made you happy?
    1. The book that made me happiest was A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas because I loved seeing all of the characters from the ACOTAR series again without them being in mortal danger.
  11. Favorite book to movie adaptation?
    1. This one is definitely Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli which was turned into the movie Love, Simon. It was mostly reliable to the book and was really just an amazing film.
  12. Favorite review you've written this year?
    1. I haven't written any reviews so far this year really so I don't have an answer to this question.
  13. The most beautiful book you've bought or received this year?
    1. I'm going with The Name of the Wind 10th Anniversary Edition because the cover is so beautiful and the pages are stained red, it's such a nice looking book.
  14. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
    1. This is such a long list but the major ones are the Darker Shade of Magic series, the Kingkiller Chronicle and the rest of the Red Rising series.

So there's the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag! I hope you enjoyed what I had to say!
