With her husband confined to a nursing home, retired teacher Jeanie McCoy works part-time in an at-risk youth program, helping six troubled students prepare for the GED exam. Her students have police records and most are repeat offenders. So when a pipe bomb exploses at a Delancey Brothers construction site and injures a man, the police targer one of Jeanie's students employed there.
